Redskins get the last laugh with Clinton-Dix

The Washington Redskins have made significant progress – stamping their presence as front runners to win the East.

The Redskins sit atop the division with a record of, 5-2. Remarkably, their defence has been revolutionary compared to their poor performance last year. The Skins elected to bolster their already solid setup with the addition of Pro Bowl free safety, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. The trade provides a fresh opportunity for Clinton-Dix to return to the form of the 2016 season, when he was selected to the Pro Bowl.

The trade comes as no surprise to many, with Clinton-Dix revealing earlier in the season that it was likely to be his last in Wisconsin, what with his contract soon to be expiring. This information must’ve been mentioned during trade negations, considering the Redskins were able to deal him for as little as a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Redskins look poised to embark on a strong playoff push and with Clinton-Dix on the roster, they look dangerous on both sides of the ball. He will dawn the uniform and lineup alongside fellow free safety, D.J. Swearinger, who has performed fantastically thus far, producing four interceptions, two forced fumbles and seven pass deflections. Swearinger, a defensive captain for the team, will also be integral in helping Ha Ha return to that same form of previous years.
