With the 2018 NFL season underway, many fans will be setting up their fantasy teams and wondering who to put in. With hundreds of players to choose from and star names like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Odell Beckham Jr., the choice is so difficult.

However, with such a wide variety of players to choose from there are plenty of players that may be less well-known who could score a lot of points in fantasy NFL. Below are five players who could well score some serious points and send your team to the top of your league.

LeSean McCoy

The 30-year-old running back, who plays for the Buffalo Bills, is a great choice for your team. McCoy has over 10,000 career rushing yards and 66 touchdowns to his name.

However, he is not just good at rushing with the ball, he is also a handy option to receive the ball, with over 3,300 career receiving yards and a further 15 touchdowns. McCoy has rushed over 1,000 yards in most seasons bar a couple, proving his consistency.

This makes McCoy a great all round option, with the chance of both rushing and receiving touchdowns he will get your team plenty of points.

Ezekiel Elliott

On some of the fantasy NFL games you have two running back spots, so why not pick Ezekiel Elliott? The 23-year-old Dallas Cowboys running back is a player with plenty of potential to be a star.

In just two seasons in the NFL, Elliott has already got over 2,600 career rushing yards to his name and 22 touchdowns. He has also over 600 career receiving yards and a further three touchdowns from his receptions.

This means that he averages a similar amount of rushing and receiving yards to the likes of top running backs like Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore.

Kirk Cousins

Quarterback is another big position in fantasy football and one player who is certainly worth a pick is Kirk Cousins. The 30-year-old plays for the Minnesota Vikings.

Cousins has thrown over 16,000 career yards and 99 touchdowns passes, meaning he just needs one more to bring up the 100.

The Vikings quarterback has completed 65% of his passes, which is a pretty impressive return, with him having a slighter higher completion rate than top quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.

All of this makes Cousins a great choice, as he is s reliable passer. Add to this the return he will give you in terms of passing yards and passing touchdowns, it’s a no brainer.

Odell Beckham Jr.

Another position which is a big points scorer is wide receiver and this choice is slightly more obvious in Odell Beckham Jr., but that’s because he scores a great deal of points. The 25-year-old, who plays for the New York Giants, is one who should have a great season as long as he can stay fit.

Beckham Jr. had an injury-marred 2017 season, but he is fit and ready to go for the 2018 season. He has over 4,400 career yards to his name at an average of over 14 yards, which is very impressive. He also has 38 touchdowns.

The 25-year-old is a great choice for a wide receiver and hopefully he can have a great season, as he has potential to be one of the top wide receivers in NFL history.

Rob Gronkowski

Tight end is slightly undervalued in fantasy NFL. Rob Gronkowski is obviously a great pick for that position.

The 29-year-old, who plays for the New England Patriots, has over 7,179 career receiving yards at an average of over 15 yards.

He also has 76 touchdowns to his name. Gronkowski is a key part of the Patriots offence and is one of Tom Brady’s top targets.

Last year, he received eight catches for 89 yards against the Houston Texans, and this year he will be looking to improve that when they take on the Texans again in their season opener.
