Re-drafting the 2018 NBA Draft

9th pick: Wendell Carter Jr.

Wendell Carter Jr.’s first two seasons in the NBA have been chaotic. The Chicago Bulls have been in a state of minor turmoil throughout. Injuries to Carter and his teammates have unsettled the team and given limited playing time for the 21-year-old centre alongside the other starters.

Comparisons to Al Horford haven’t aged superbly, with Carter seldom shooting from deep. He has been passive on the offensive end all too often.

Like the other big men in this draft, it’s been about the flashes. Carter has been good on the offensive boards, he’s a decent post player. Perhaps a Horford-esque career is still attainable.
