The Steph Curry comparisons quickly became tiresome and likely over the top, but Trae Young has proven himself as an elite offensive force, sitting in the top five in scoring in his second year in the league.

The Hawks remain terrible, and Young’s defensive vulnerability (that might be being kind) is a part of that. His ceiling offensively is what makes him such an exciting prospect at the moment. While he’ll never be above average on the defensive end, there are clear signs he can be a perennial All-Star.
