A decade of drafts: Re-drafting the 2018 NBA Draft

6th pick: Deandre Ayton

Deandre Ayton is in the unfortunate position of being the guy drafted ahead of Doncic and Young. With such pressure, criticism has followed. There’s no doubt Ayton is behind that pair right now, and several others from the 2018 draft.

Despite that, Ayton is already a reliable double-double guy. His defence has improved. It’d be nice to see him bully people in the paint more frequently.

Phoenix’s big man was a hard player to place. His ceiling is still very high, and if there was no Doncic or Young, it’d be easy to see why the Suns took him with the number one pick.
