Re-drafting the 2012 NBA Draft

Re-Draft Pick #1: Anthony Davis – New Orleans Hornets

Anthony Davis remains as the first pick overall in this re-draft and for good reason. The best power forward since Tim Duncan, you could even make the argument that Davis is the most talented player in the NBA today, Davis is the type of talent that can change the fortunes of a franchise for years to come.

On top of averaging 24.0 PPG for his career, Davis is also a 7x All-Star, 3x All-NBA and 2016-17 All-Star game MVP. While Davis did not bring the level of team success NO would have liked, Davis did his best considering the level of talent he was surrounded with. Even in Davis’ ugly departure in 2019, the Pelicans/ Hornets were able to receive an absolute bounty in return.

Compared to some of the other talent in this draft class, this one is a no-brainer. New Orleans repeat their selection from eight years ago and hopefully do a better job of keeping ahold of their superstar.
