NBA free agents who deserve a place on one of the 22 remaining teams

DeMarcus Cousins

The name everyone is talking about, DeMarcus Cousins is coming off injury (again), but has the highest upside of any player that could be signed in this window. Cousins was a mixed bag in his postseason appearance for the Golden State Warriors last season.

Defensively, Cousins walks the tightrope between below-average and liability. Teams looking to push the pace will find him a problem to fit offensively. Given the right system, though, his skill level remains incredibly high, both as a shooter and passer.

He could be a ceiling raiser for teams struggling to effective minutes at centre. There’s bound to be interest in Cousins, but it’s unknown whether he’ll be coming back. It may take an offer from a legitimate contender to tempt him.
