Knicks vs Spurs prediction

The New York Knicks are going back to the playoffs. An improbable standout in the Eastern Conference standings, the Knicks are favored by 5.5 points over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs have clung onto a play-in berth. With a brutal schedule in the second half of the campaign, though, San Antonio is slumping hard. The Hornets are the only playoff team with a worse net rating since the All-Star break.

New York is eighth in net rating over that span. Julius Randle has played his way from nice All-Star story to a legitimate All-NBA contender, and the defense has proven itself to be for real.

San Antonio has won just twice in nine games. Fatigue is beginning to show, with the defense ranking among the worst in the league over that span. They are still running out strong line-ups (unlike many other teams), but their recent performances have been seriously subpar.

To weigh up any Knicks vs Spurs prediction, it’s important to remember this is the second night of a back-to-back for San Antonio. New York not only has a better recent record, they also had an extra day or so of rest.

The Knicks are comprehensive league leaders against the spread. This looks like a game where the Spurs’ struggles will continue as Tom Thibodeau and co push for a top five seed.

Knicks vs Spurs pick: New York Knicks -5.5 (Evens)

Bulls vs Raptors prediction

Embracing the tank, the Toronto Raptors are without Kyle Lowry, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Chris Boucher, Aron Baynes and Rodney Hood for Thursday’s game with Chicago.

The Bulls don’t have much to play for. Their stars are expected to take the hardwood, however, and Zach LaVine has scored 71 points across his last two games. It’s three wins in four games for Billy Donovan’s team.

As short as 2/11 on the moneyline with 888, Chicago is 9.5-point favorites for this one. These Bulls might have ultimately disappointed this season, but they are still trying to win games, and are deserving of their favorite status here.

Only the Thunder, Pacers, Rockets and Cavs have a worse ATS record than the Raptors this season. Disrupted by the move to Tampa, hit by injuries and struggling in general, Nick Nurse’s team are clearly desperate for this season to finish.

With LaVine set to put on a show after notching yet another 40-point game against the Nets, the points over at 217.5 should tempt some bettors. A small parlay with the Bulls to cover and the total points over might prove to be the best betting value for our Bulls vs Raptors prediction.

Bulls vs Raptors pick: Bulls to cover, total points over (3/1)
