It’s that time of the year again, Super Bowl Sunday is just around the corner, and although this season has been strange at times, both on and off the gridiron, we at Franchise Sports are throwing our proverbial hats into the ring with our Super Bowl LV prediction piece.
Score and Winner
Tyler Arthur @TylerJArthur: Chiefs 31-24. I think the Chiefs offence is just too powerful, I would love to see Brady win and truly assert an almost impossible level of legacy, but I think that Andy Reid and Pat Mahomes are just too good, and the weapons are practically unstoppable. I imagine the score will be something like 31-24. I think both teams are going to make a real game of it and the offences should both be productive, but Chiefs win.
Mark Gill @chicagogingle: Buccs 34-30. They’ve got momentum on their side and with Brady can beat anyone. Also, I rate their defence more so than the Chiefs. It’ll be a bit of a shootout but both defences will step up more than most predict.
Adam Wright-Johnson @WrustWrites: Buccs 28-24. Mahomes will do Mahomes things and he will put up points, but this is all about the defensive line of Tampa. A defence boasting Vita Vea, Shaq Barrett, Ndamukong Suh, JPP, and Devin White will just cause so many problems in big moments.
Sam Cox @SamRCox_: Chiefs 38-35. This Buccaneers defence is great, but no one can stop this Chiefs offence. This postseason run has a bit more Mahomes Magic left in it. Let’s go with Kansas City edging a high-scoring game.
Sean Halloran @SeanHalloran15: Chiefs 38-Bucs 10. In the first blowout since Super Bowl XLVIII, the Chiefs get ahead early and the Bucs can’t keep pace, throwing multiple interceptions. Hollywood game for Mahomes who lights up on the biggest stage. Brady watches the confetti comes down on him and vows to return next year.
James Dudko @JamesDudko: Chiefs 31-24. Heart says Chiefs, head says Brady and the Bucs. I’ll go with the former. KC’s defence might be the real deciding factor. Spagnuolo’s fire zones will fool Bray a couple of times. I worry Bowles and the Bucs will rely on the blitz and press coverage early instead of doubling up on Hill and Kelce.
Adam Schultz @AdamSchultzAFC: Chiefs 34-31. Chiefs just have too many weapons for the Bucs D, will be a high scoring game and if the Chiefs put up points.
MVP
Tyler Arthur @TylerJArthur: Travis Kelce. If the Chiefs win the MVP will probably be Pat Mahomes, but I’m going to predict Travis Kelce breaking some records and having the best Tight End game ever! 150 yards and a touchdown or 2 would be epic.
Mark Gill @chicagogingle: Tom Brady. By sheer will and determination to win Brady will keep pace with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid and elevate the play of his teammates.
Adam Wright-Johnson @WrustWrites: Devin White. My heart says Tom Brady but I think we could see Devin White do big things as he has all playoffs and take this year’s Super Bowl MVP.
Sam Cox @SamRCox_: Travis Kelce. It’s probably Mahomes’ MVP if it’s as high-scoring as expected, but let’s go left-field with Travis Kelce. He made history against Buffalo. With Tampa’s pass rush putting Mahomes under pressure, he’ll go to Kelce early and often, and it could be another historic night for the league’s best tight end.
Sean Halloran @SeanHalloran15: Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes throws 4 TDs on his way to his second Super Bowl victory.
James Dudko @JamesDudko: Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes MVP (naturally).
Adam Schultz @AFCAdamSchultz: Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes will throw for a bunch of yards and 3-4 touchdowns.
So the writers have had their say, but what say you? Will Mahomes continue his rampage through the NFL with his second consecutive Super Bowl victory? Or will Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time, remind everyone of his position within the game and teach the young quarterback a trick or two? Whatever the case, its gonna be a great Super Bowl Sunday.
