Washington DC has a World Series team for the first time in 86 years. Having not won a playoff series since their move from Montreal in 2004, the Nationals have managed to win two after sweeping the Cardinals. They will play either the Yankees or the Astros to win their first title.
Washington Nationals have started the season 16-25 and are already eight games back in the ultra-competitive National League East.
A very solid lineup with some breakout potential, and a reliable pitching staff bolstered by some neat additions should see them in the hunt for division title right to the end of the season.
