The league has its opening day scheduled for July 23rd, Thursday, and will be the first of the four major US leagues to return since the month of March. Despite some well-known names opting out of the campaign, baseball's stars will be on display almost as much as during any other season. At least for the time being.
As first reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan, The Boston Red Sox traded their star outfielder to the Los Angeles Dodgers, while the Dodgers dealt young center fielder Alex Verdugo to Boston and Kenta Maeda to the Minnesota Twins, who also joined to make it a three-team trade.
The Boston Red Sox are believed to be committed to trading Mookie Betts and likely starter David Price, as reported by Bob Nightengale and Ken Rosenthal.
