Franchise Sports Talk Baseball: American League Central division preview

Joe and Sam preview the American League Central. The Indians remain favourites despite cutting payroll, but the Twins could be a surprise package after some big offseason moves.

Cleveland considered trading away aces Trevor Bauer and Corey Kluber. The pair of starters remain, as does a monstrous rotation, but a paper-thin line-up leaves them teetering atop the division and a long way behind their American League rivals.

Minnesota added Nelson Cruz, Jonathan Schoop and several others this offseason as they look to prove 2018 was a blip after a strong 2017 season. Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano are key to their potential success.

The Detroit Tigers are deep in a rebuild and could lose 100 games this season. The same can be said for the Kansas City Royals, who have limited upside on their roster and will be without catcher Salvador Perez. Injuries have hurt the White Sox, too, who are without Michael Kopech, but have the excitement of Eloy Jimenez to look forward to.

There will be a podcast focused on each division before the season starts.
