Franchise Sports Talk Baseball: American League East division preview

Joe and Sam preview the American League East, starting with the not very good Baltimore Orioles and working their way ‘up’ to the Yankees and Red Sox.

The World Series winning Boston Red Sox had a very quiet winter, losing Craig Kimbrel and Joe Kelly without making any major additions to their roster.

The Yankees were busy, re-signing J.A. Happ, CC Sabathia and Brett Gardner along with adding D.J. LeMahieu and Troy Tulowitzki. Trading for James Paxton bolstered the rotation.

Toronto Blue Jays are waiting on top prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. who is expected to feature in the Majors once he returns from injury.

Tampa Bay Rays made a splash this winter, signing Charlie Morton to a lucrative deal. Morton partners Cy Young winning Blake Snell atop the rotation. The Rays have a solid line-up and added Avisail Garcia and Mike Zunino this offseason.

Baltimore lost 115 games in 2018 and could be record-breakingly bad this season.
