Joe and Sam look ahead to the World Series being played by the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros.

Thanks to a dramatic Jose Altuve, walk-off home run against the Yankees, the Astros are back in the Fall Classic for the second time in three years. Riding dominant starting pitching, Houston have Gerrit Cole on the mound for Game One followed by Justin Verlander.

The only team capable of matching that firepower, the Nationals will be sending out Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer followed by offseason signing Patrick Corbin. Anthony Rendon has starred at the plate ahead of free agency while Davey Martinez will be hoping hotshot slugger Juan Soto can fix a slump that saw him dropped down the line-up against the St Louis Cardinals in the National League Championship Series.

Houston lifted their first Commissioner’s Trophy in 2017 and are looking to double their franchise tally. Washington are heading to the end of season finale for the first time in franchise history.
