Joe and Sam react to the MLB trade deadline, including Zack Greinke’s blockbuster trade and two reconstructed bullpens in the NL East.

Greinke’s trade saw the Arizona Diamondbacks restock their thin farm with Seth Beer and three other highly rated prospects. The Diamondbacks also traded Jazz Chisholm to the Miami Marlins in exchange for young pitcher Zac Gallen.

The New York Mets are currently the hottest team in baseball, riding a monstrous rotation, led by Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard. Marcus Stroman joins the big two with Steven Matz and Zack Wheeler completing the ‘best rotation in the Majors’.

Atlanta and Washington bolstered their respective bullpens with Mark Melancon, Shane Greene, Chris Martin, Hunter Strickland, Roenis Elias and Daniel Hudson. The two teams are battling it out in the National League East and could yet meet in the postseason as they look to topple the dominate Dodgers.

The trade market moved late on 31st July, with several deals going through with just minutes remaining after weeks of speculation.
