Joe and Sam cover Manny Machado signing with the San Diego Padres, what the Padres do now and the slow-moving free agency.

San Diego Padres signed Manny Machado to a 10-year, $300 million contract this week. The Padres are expected to be active again before the start of the 2019 MLB season and could yet move to sign Bryce Harper. Machado joins Eric Hosmer, Fernando Tatis and Luis Urias in the San Diego infield long-term after signing the largest free agent contract in American sports history.

Zack Greinke has over $100 million left on his contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks and is mentioned in Episode Six as a potential trade target for the Padres.

Josh Harrison was in the news this week as he signed with the Detroit Tigers on a one-year deal. Harrison is covered on the podcast and could be traded by Detroit near the midseason deadline. Craig Kimbrel‘s quiet winter is discussed, too.
