Joe and Sam look ahead to the MLB trade deadline, discussing several potential trade candidates and going through every potential buyer, deciding what they should be targeting.

The Detroit Tigers’ Nicholas Castellanos and Texas Rangers’ Mike Minor are the focus of the conversation with both players likely to be moved before the 31st July trade deadline. The impact of the single trade deadline is speculated upon, too, which could see a change in the market.

Selling teams, such as the Pittsburgh Pirates with Felipe Vasquez, are asking much higher prices than buyers seem to be willing to pay. As a result, this could be a quiet week or so before the deadline comes.

Madison Bumgarner and Will Smith were two players who looked likely to be traded before the end of July, but the San Francisco Giants’ hot streak has changed the odds in that regard. Both players look likely to stay in the Bay Area for the rest of the season.
