Joe and Sam discuss the first fortnight of the 2019/20 NBA season.

LeBron James has got off to a flying start, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to top spot in the Western Conference. Anthony Davis is posting gaudy numbers alongside the four-time MVP. Kawhi Leonard’s load management has been a topic of controversy at this early juncture, with the reigning Finals MVP already missing two nationally televised games.

Over in the East, the Sixers started strongly and the Giannis Antetokounmpo has improved even on his monstrous MVP self. Joel Embiid got into a fight with Karl-Anthony Towns which resulted in the pair being suspended. Minnesota got off to a stellar start with Ryan Saunders’ new-look offence and Towns has thrust himself into the early MVP chatter.

The Miami Heat, and particularly Kendrick Nunn, have been a surprise package early on, performing like a team capable of going deep in the playoffs and challenging for a top two berth in the East.
