Home » XFL » XFL week one: schedule, preview, predictions

So after that entertaining Super Bowl, the NFL season is over. But not to worry! There’s still some football left this season in the XFL. If you’re unsure what to expect from the XFL, then pay your attention over here for a quick refresh.

With that being said, We are going to be looking at the week one schedule for the XFL and breaking it down, previewing the matchups and making predictions based on what we see in front of us. So without anymore delays, let’s get into it:

Week One Games

  1. Seattle Dragons @ DC Defenders
  2. Los Angeles Wildcats @ Houston Roughnecks
  3. Tampa Bay Vipers @ New York Guardians
  4. St. Louis Battlehawks @ Dallas Renegades

The XFL 2020 schedule, a 79-day sprint from kickoff to the championship game, starts on Saturday, Feb. 8 when the DC Defenders host the Seattle Dragons at 2 p.m. ET. The debut is followed by the Los Angeles Wildcats at the Houston Roughnecks at 5 p.m. ET.

The opening weekend of the 10-week regular season continues on Sunday, Feb. 9, when the New York Guardians host the Tampa Bay Vipers at 2 p.m. ET and concludes later that day when the St. Louis BattleHawks travel to face the Dallas Renegades at 5 p.m. ET.

The eight-team league is divided into two four-team divisions (East and West). The XFL East features the DC Defenders, New York Guardians, St. Louis BattleHawks, and Tampa Bay Vipers. The Dallas Renegades, Houston Roughnecks, Los Angeles Wildcats, and Seattle Dragons comprise the XFL West.

Each XFL team will host five home games and will play a schedule that features a home-and-home series against division rivals and one game against each team in the other division.

Predictions

  1. Seattle Dragons 27-13 DC Defenders
  2. Los Angeles Wildcats 17-27 Houston Roughnecks
  3. Tampa Bay Vipers 37 -24 New York Guardians
  4. St. Louis Battlehawks 18- 35 Dallas Renegades

Looking at the rosters released by the XFL recently, these are my picks.

I expect the games to be fast-paced high scoring and entertaining for both the fans and the players. A team to look out for in the season would be the Tampa Bay Vipers, they have a strong roster and seeing them on training drills, they mean business!
