Anthony Beauvillier bagged a brace with Semyon Varlamov making 21 saves as the New York Islanders defeated the Washington Capitals 4-0 in Game Five to win their Eastern Conference First Round series.

Brayden Point scored five minutes into overtime to seal a 5-4 win for the Tampa Bay Lightning over the Columbus Blue Jackets, who have completed a 4-1 series win over their rivals. Lightning will now play either Montreal Canadiens or the next lowest remaining seed in the Eastern Conference Second Round.

David Pastrnak had two assists on his return to the Boston line up as the Bruins beat the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 in Game Five of their Eastern Conference First Round to win the series 4-1 in Toronto on Wednesday.

Nathan MacKinnon had a four-point haul with two goals and two assists as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Arizona Coyotes 7-1 to win their Western Conference First Round series 4-1. Nazem Kadri bagged a brace for the Avalanche who are now the number two seed in the West.

Max Pacioretty had a goal and an assist as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in Game Five to win their Western Conference First Round series at Edmonton on Tuesday 4-1.

       

Vegas, who are the No. 1 seed will now face the lowest remaining seed in the Western Conference Second Round.

Tukka Rask has decided not to feature for the Boston Bruins for the remainder of the series against the Carolina Hurricanes. The decision was announced just hours before Game Three of the Eastern Conference First Round match.

Carter Hart made 23 saves as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Montreal Canadiens 1-0 to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Corey Crawford pulled off 48 saves to help the Chicago Blackhawks defeat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 in Game four of the Western Conference series at Edmonton on Sunday.

Alexander Radulov scored 16 minutes into overtime to give the Dallas Stars a 5-4 win against the Calgary Flames in Game four to level the series 2-2.

       

New York Islanders completed a 2-1 overtime victory over the Washington Capitals to take an overall 3-0 lead in the series. Mathew Barzal scored the Islanders winner after 4:28 of overtime.

Andrei Svechnikov could well miss the rest of their Eastern conference First Round series against the Boston Bruins. The forward was injured late in the third period of Canes 3-1 loss in Game three on Saturday, and is considered extremely doubtful to play any further part.
