NHL Roundup: Pastrnak moves top, Canucks honour Sedins

David Pastrnak moved to the top of the leading goal scorer of the season chart after notching up his 41st goal of the current season against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday. It was the fourth time this season Pastrnak has scored a hat trick and the first time he has hit 40 goals in his six seasons in the league.

The Vancouver Canucks honoured Daniel and Henrik Sedin by retiring their numbers in a star studded ceremony at Rogers Arena on Wednesday. Both Daniel and Henrik spent their entire career with the Canucks – all 17 seasons.

In trade news, Jason Zucker was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins by the Minnesota Wild on Monday for forward Alex Galchenyuk, defenceman Calen Addison and a first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft or 2021 Draft.

The Colorado Avalanche made it four consecutive victories after a 3-2 win against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Centre on Sunday. Pavel Francouz produced 34 saves for the Avs who have now won seven of its past eight games.

Claude Giroux reached 800 NHL points with a goal and two assists for the Philadelphia Flyers who thrashed the Washington Capitals 7-2 at Capital Arena on Saturday. The improving Flyers are now 7-2-1 in their past ten games.

Andrei Vasilevski made 17 saves to extend his points streak to 18 games when the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New York Islanders 3-1 at Amalie Arena on Saturday. Vasilevski has also recorded at Tampa Bay record of 16-0-2 during the streak. Lightning have now won six in a row, with Brayden Point picking up a goal and an assist on the night.

Tuukka Rask made 29 saves to help the Boston Bruins extend their winning spell to six games with a 4-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes at TD on Saturday. Bruins have now won its past 16 games against Arizona, with the Coyotes last defeating the Bruins back in October 2010.
