Anthony Davis trade rumors 2022 are one of the hottest topics in the NBA at the moment. The start of the 2022-23 season was the worst in the Los Angeles Lakers history and changes need to happen immediately.

The latest player whose name has been mentioned in the Lakers trade news is Anthony Davis.

Anthony Davis trade rumors 2022

Anthony Davis is not the biggest problem the Lakers have at the moment but he has the highest value on the trade market.

Lakers trade news will definitely be worth following in the upcoming period. There are many teams ready to offer an Anthony Davis trade package which they believe may lead them to winning the Larry O’Brien trophy.

We used our expertise and the NBA Trade Machine to address the Anthony Davis trade rumors 2022 and get to the five most likely destinations where he may end up, so here they are.

Hawks

Trae Young is the cornerstone of the Atlanta Hawks team and he has been surrounded with great talent. Dejounte Murray was brought in during the off-season and the Hawks look like they are one move away from becoming a true contender.

Trading for Anthony Davis seems like exactly what they will go for in order to achieve that. What puts the Hawks at the top of the list is the fact that they have the right trade assets to make the Lakers agree on a trade.

Clint Capela is a great defender who led the league in rebounding in 2021 and will have no issues doing the dirty work for the Lakers. Bogdan Bogdanovic is a player who has already been connected with the Lakers. He is a great spot-up shooter who can also create his own shots. This potential deal would be a win-win situation for both teams.

Bulls

There is no doubt that Anthony Davis would love to play in his hometown. The Chicago Bulls have made significant improvements in recent years and they are not about to stop. The Bulls have one of the best backcourts in the league with DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine.

Adding Anthony Davis to these two would make the Bulls’ roster the best they have had since the Michael Jordan era. In order to land Davis, the Bulls would have to part ways with center Nikola Vucevic. The former USC alumn is a regular double-double machine with a great touch from outside.

He would be a perfect fit for the Lakers right away and his consistency will be highly appreciated by LeBron James. Vucevic is a hard-working player which may change the culture of the current Lakers squad. In addition to Vucevic, the Bulls will need to add Coby White and Patrick Williams.

Knicks

The New York Knicks fans have been praying for a decade for a superstar to join their team and maybe that time has finally come. They signed Jalen Brunson to a $104 million contract in the off-season and we all know he is not the type of player who can take them deep in the Playoffs.

Davis may not be particularly happy to join the Knicks but at the end of the day, it will be a better scenario than staying in LA. The Knicks would need to offer rising star RJ Barrett along with shooters Evan Fournier and Miles McBride. The Lakers would get Barrett who can become the leader of the team in the future and a reliable shooter in Frenchman Fournier.

On the other side, Davis would be the go-to guy in New York and will still be surrounded by reliable teammates which may turn into a winning scenario for the Knicks.

Grizzlies

After drafting Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies have quickly turned from an average team into a real powerhouse. Morant is slowly taking over the league and he and the Grizzlies can only benefit from an experienced superstar like Anthony Davis. Memphis has an excellent young squad and in order to become a real contender, they need a player who has won the NBA championship.

In a projected trade, the Grizzlies would send Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Lakers alongside Danny Green who was a part of the 2020 championship team. Jackson Jr. is an excellent defender who found his spot in the All-NBA defensive team last season and led the league in block shots with 2.3 per game. Green is still a decent shooter who can make a difference in LA when healthy.

Wizards

Both Anthony Davis and Kristaps Porzingis have failed to meet the expectations of their respective teams. The only difference is that Porzingis was already traded from the Dallas Mavericks. The Latvian has been rejuvenated in DC and is currently averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds per game. How well he will fit with the Lakers would be a big question but the Lakers will have to take the risk.

The good news is that Porzingis, besides being 7-3, is a great outside shooter who already had two 30+ point games in the season. In the projected deal, the Lakers would also get Deni Avdija.

The Israeli-Serbian player is seeing limited minutes with the Wizards but he is still only 21 years old and may become a real asset for the Lakers. Davis in DC would get a fresh start and pairing him with Bradley Beal may end up as the right move both for the Wizards and Davis.
