Antonio Brown suspension: Three teams who should try and sign him

Home » NFL » Antonio Brown suspension: Three teams who should try and sign him

The NFL have suspended Antonio Brown for eight games if he decides to make a return and sign with a team.

He is currently a free agent since being released by the New England Patriots back in September 2019.

The NFL have said that Brown’s suspension is due to violations of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

He is still allowed to sign with a team but if he chooses to, he will be suspended for half of the regular season without pay.

We all know that Antonio Brown will make any NFL team better, but not every team will be willing to take a chance on him due to his past and considering Brown’s age (32) he will most likely be looking to go to a contender.

Even though Brown will be facing an eight-game suspension there are still a few teams that may be willing to take a chance on him.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have a former Super Bowl MVP in his prime who for most of his career has been making plays with average offensive lines. This quarterback is Russell Wilson.

With Wilson running the offence adding Antonio Brown at wide receiver would take them to the next level. Along with this Seattle are starting to make moves on defence trading for Jamal Adams, one of the best safety prospects in the NFL.

However, with Brown’s suspension this could sway Seattle due to it being half of the season and being in a Division with San Francisco and Los Angeles doesn’t help.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore have a similar situation to Seattle, but their quarterback is the reigning MVP and still has a few years to peak.

In the 2019/2020 season Baltimore were the number one seed in the AFC with a record of 14-2.

They were also hot contenders last season before they were upset by the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Adding Antonio Brown would give Lamar Jackson another target to throw to plus leaving him with more options to run, not that he needs any.

With the Ravens being in the position they are in the suspension would only stop them from signing Brown because of the distractions that come with it. Apart from that the team are in as good of a position as they were last season.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers are not really contenders, yet. They are more of a dark horse team. Kind of like what the New York Giants were back in 2007 and 2012, but instead of Eli Manning they have Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.

They have needed a wide receiver for a few years now. Many people thought they would take one in the recent NFL draft, but they took a quarterback.

Adding Antonio Brown to this team would give them a massive upgrade to an offence that Aaron Rodgers has carried to through the NFC multiple times but only to be stopped at the last hurdle.

With Green Bay’s up and coming defence they are a team that is one top Wide Receiver away from possible being big contenders.
