Russell Westbrook is having one of his worst NBA seasons, but he’s still one of the best NBA trade deadline players available. If New York can get ship Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, and Alec Burks for Russ, then they should go for it.
New York has been searching for a point guard that can be a floor general for years now, and Westbrook is in desperate need of a fresh start.
Meanwhile, Walker, Fournier, and Burks could provide spacing and shooting for a Lakers team that desperately needs it.
Pacers
Pacers receive: Kemba Walker, Obi Toppin, Nerlens Noel
Knicks receive: Myles Turner
Even though the Knicks desperately need a point guard, they also need a center who can shoot. Turner can declutter the paint and open up lanes for Julius Randle and RJ Barrett.
This would be a blockbuster trade for the Knicks, but Turner is reportedly unhappy with his limited role in Indiana.
This could be the right time to target Turner while still getting rid of Walker.
Kings

Knicks Receive: De’Aaron Fox
This is an interesting one. The Knicks’ quest for the franchise point guard continues. De’Aaron Fox would definitely be an upgrade over Walker and could be a great fit with Randle and Barrett.
Walker would not interest the Kings if the trade does not include Obi Toppin and a first-round pick. Toppin is an electrifying player who has a lot of potential. The Kings could see him as a future centerpiece.
Mavericks
Mavs receive: Kemba Walker
Knicks receive: $10.9M trade exception
The Mavericks have been involved in Kemba Walker trade rumors in 2022, and even more so in recent days. They are currently sitting at 5th in the Western Conference and could use a scoring spark off the bench. Kemba would fill in this gap and have a chance at redemption.
The question would be if they could acquire him with a trade exception?
Hornets

Knicks receive: Ish Smith
If the Knicks can’t find a home for Walker, this is an option they could consider.
Ish Smith is still a productive guard off the bench and he can shoot the rock. Meanwhile, Walker’s homecoming to Charlotte would be heartwarming.
The Hornets could be heading for the playoffs this year and Walker would be a crowd favorite coming off the bench.
There is no better place for him to have a fresh start.
