Four ideal trade targets for the LA Rams at the 2021 deadline

The Rams are one of the best and most complete teams in the NFL. They have the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, a corner that is widely regarded as the best in the league, a receiver on pace to break the single-season receiving yards record, a new solid veteran QB, and one of the best coaches in the league. This team could bring in absolutely no one and have a good of a shot as anybody at winning the Lombardi. Who could this team potentially bring in to make them that much better? Let’s look at some Rams trade rumors in 2021.

Rams trade rumors 2021

To find out who we could potentially bring into this already stacked team, we need to look at their weaknesses.

The Rams are 25th in yards allowed. This is their glaring downside. They are 6th in turnovers and 10th in points allowed, not bad, but they give offenses too many chances to score.

Sure, maybe it hasn’t gotten out of hand yet but deep in the playoffs it could get nasty. Brady, Rodgers, Murray, and Prescott won’t let those yards go to waste. This team needs a little help on defense so we’ll start there.

Leighton Vander Esch

A very good linebacker who may not return to his team next year.

The Cowboys have two promising young rookies in Micah Parsons and Jabril Cox. Also, if they bring back anyone it’ll be Keanu Neal.

He may have some concerning injury history, but he hasn’t had any problems this season. Leighton Vander Esch would be a piece of glue you could drop right in the middle of an already extremely talented LA defense.

Marcus Maye

Not only is Marcus Maye one of the most popular Rams trade targets, but one of the most popular trade targets in the whole league this season.

Maye is one of the best safeties in the league.

In the 2020 season, Maye was T-4th among safeties in passes deflected, T-7 among safeties in tackles for loss, on top of 2 interceptions and 2 sacks last year. CBS also listed the 28-year-old Jet as the 6th best safety coming into the 2021 season.

Xavien Howard

Another trade target who has been talked about a ton in the LA Rams trade deadline news.

He is one of hottest topics when it comes to trade discussions around the entire league. Xavien Howard led the NFL in interceptions last year with 10.

He also has 20 passed deflected during the 2020 season. This season he is on pace for 6 interceptions and his lowest completion percentage allowed with 51.2%. I think we would all be scared of Ramsey and Howard on the same team.

Blake Jarwin

Another Cowboy?!? Yes!

Cooper Kupp is on pace for 150 receptions and over 2,000 yards.. wow. Robert Woods has only had one big game this season. While Van Jefferson is a solid #2, I’m afraid no one will be there to step up for the passing game if Kupp gets shut down.

Blake Jarwin is one of the best receiving tight ends in the league, having a career completion percentage of 75%. Jarwin is also a very polished route runner and could really split defenses up. I would love for Kupp to break the single-season reception yards record, but if the Rams want to go all the way they need a little more strength throughout the offense.

That covers the Rams trade rumors in the 2021 season. The Rams are one of the most fun teams to watch right now, and they will only get better as they settle in with their new QB. The battle between them and the Arizona Cardinals for the NFC West will be very exciting to see unfold. Keep your eyes peeled, because this is gonna be good!
