The NBA is constantly regarded as the league of giants, with many of the league’s biggest stars standing head and shoulders over other leading sports stars from around the world.
However, even some of the players in the NBA can be overpowered by taller guys in the league, and these are the stars that stand tallest in the premier basketball competition in the world.
Tacko Fall
The prize for the tallest current player in the NBA goes to Tacko Fall of the Boston Celtics. The 24-year-old is 7 ft 6 in, and has already set NBA records for the tallest player in shoes, and the highest standings reach. In shoes, Fall is 7 ft 7 in, while he has a standing reach of just over ten inches.
Surprisingly, the star from Senegal was undrafted in the 2019 Draft, but was later picked up by the Boston Celtics. His NBA career so far has seen the star play on a two-way contract, which has meant that he has been able to play for the Celtics, as well as the Maine Red Claws.
He played just seven games for the Celtics in the 2019-20 season, and averaged 3.3 points per game. This term, he has averaged 7.1 minutes on the course, and has scored an average of 2.9 points per game.

Boban Marjanovic
Boban Marjanovic is currently the second tallest active NBA player. He stands at a height of 7 ft 4 in, and plays for the Dallas Mavericks.
The 32-year-old has played for a number of other NBA teams throughout his career to this point. He played for the San Antonio Spurs in 2015-16, before moving to the Detroit Pistons and then the Los Angeles Lakers.
Marjanovic played for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2019, before signing for the Mavericks. Last season, he played 44 games for the Mavericks, and scored an average of 6.6 points per game.
This season, he hasn’t played as regularly, as he has played an average of just nine minutes per game. However, he has still managed to average 5.1 points per game throughout the season.
Kristaps Porzingis
Kristaps Porzingis is one of the most talented tall players in the NBA. He stands at 7 ft 3 in and plays for the Dallas Mavericks. He was always regarded as a player that could shine in the NBA, as he became the youngest player to win the EuroCup Rising Star award back in 2015 when he was just 18.
The subsequent summer, he was picked up by the New York Knicks, as he was selected as their fourth overall pick in the Draft.
The 25-year-old shone for the Knicks, as he scored an average of 22.7 points per game in his third and final season with the franchise.
He ultimately left the Knicks after a disagreement with board members and joined the Mavericks. Porzingis has enjoyed another excellent season this year, as he has averaged 20.2 points per game, and 9.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
Bol Bol
Bol Bol is another of the tallest current players in the NBA, as he stands at 7 ft 2 in. After an impressive college career at Oregon between 2018 and 2019, he was selected by the Miami Heat in the 2019 Draft.
He was selected at 44th overall in the draft, but was immediately traded to the Denver Nuggets.
He is yet to make his mark in the NBA, as he spent the 2019-20 season with the Windy City Bulls on a two-way contract. His long-awaited debut in the NBA came late last season, as he scored five points for the Nuggets in a defeat against the Miami Heat.
