Most insiders don’t expect much to happen for Memphis at the trade deadline, as suggested by the Grizzlies’ trade rumors 2022. And I mean, why would they try and make big moves with the way their roster has been playing? But you know what they say, even good things can be great.

Grizzlies trade rumors 2022

The young, up-and-coming Grizzlies are clearly far ahead of schedule. They’ve been much better, much faster than even the most optimistic fan and analyst ever dreamed of. And the best part is that they have yet to scratch the surface of how good they can really be.

So, making NBA trade deadline predictions for a team like this is quite complicated. Most Grizzlies trade targets should be players on team-friendly deals, and most likely all should be younger players. Moreover, they won’t want to risk messing up their NBA-best chemistry.

The latest Memphis Grizzlies trade deadline news has them with a wait-and-see approach. If the value is there, if the price is right, and if they can make a deal, then so be it.

But chances are that they won’t try and swing for the fences at the expense of breaking up their roster. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some realistic NBA trade possibilities for the Memphis Grizzlies.

3. Thomas Bryant

Thomas Bryant was having a breakout year before suffering a season-ending knee injury last season. He’s looked like the best offensive big man on the Washington Wizards since his return but that hasn’t exactly translated into winning basketball.

The Wizards are reportedly looking to revamp their roster to convince Bradley Beal of staying. That would mean breaking up that logjam they have in the paint, as Daniel Gafford and Montrezl Harrell did a great job in staggered minutes.

Steven Adams has been quite solid throughout the season, yet his good offensive play is just unsustainable. They could use Bryant as a scoring big in certain matchups, as he can even stretch the floor with his new-found three-point shooting.

2. Bogdan Bogdanovic

According to most NBA trade deadline predictions, the Atlanta Hawks will look to make a huge splash. But for salary-matching purposes, that will most likely require help from a third team. That’s where the Memphis Grizzlies could enter the picture.

Bogdan Bogdanovic to Memphis makes sense for several reasons. For starters, he fits their timeline as a young player still developing. Also, he could give them a much-needed scoring threat off the bench and a better three-point shooting option.

Bogdanovic’s contract is a bit of a headache for the Hawks right now. Also, they have a bit of a logjam at that spot and would be wise to add more win-now pieces to their roster. The Grizzlies would then get a promising player without having to give up too much in return, i.e. picks.

1. Buddy Hield

The Sacramento Kings won’t make the playoffs, again. They will break up their roster and hit the drawing board, again. So, all teams should look to make the most of that and pick up the few valuable assets they still have, yes, again.

The Memphis Grizzlies have exceled in nearly every aspect of the game this season. Nonetheless, they’ve been way below average when it comes to three-point shooting and half-court offense. Buddy Hield could help fix both issues in the blink of an eye.

Hield hasn’t been the lights-out shooter he usually is this season. But his numbers should only trend up with Ja Morant setting up the offense. He’s one of the best sharpshooters in the league and they shouldn’t have to give up too much to get him.
