The 2022-23 NBA season is fast approaching and we are already in the preseason. Let’s take a look at the NBA season dates 2022-23

The NBA regular season is set to start on October 18th and has a possible end date of June 18th, 2023. Each team is set to play 82 games along with an All-Star weekend in the middle of the season. After that, the top 16 teams will battle it out for the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Fans will be curious to know the most important NBA dates of the 2022-23 season.

NBA season dates 2022-23

Some important events have already passed like the 2022 NBA Draft and 2022 Summer League.  The NBA preseason  began on September 30th. But what else is there in the NBA season dates 2022-23? Let’s take a look.

Opening Day – October 18th

The regular season is set to begin on October 18th.  There are two exciting games scheduled for the day. The Celtics will take on the Sixers in an Eastern Conference rivals matchup.Up next, the defending champion Golden State Warriors take on the Lakers in another matchup between Steph Curry and LeBron James.


Christmas Day – December 25th

The league has scheduled five games this time on Christmas Day, one of the last NBA key dates 2022. In the Eastern Conference, the Sixers will take on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Then it’s the rematch of the Conference semifinals between the Bucks and Celtics.

Then in the West, LeBron and Luka Doncic go head to head as the Lakers face the Mavs. After that, the Warriors will face the Grizzlies in what   is an intense rivalry. The day ends with the Nuggets facing off against the Suns.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The first of the NBA key dates 2023 will be the historic MLK Day. The NBA will continue hosting games on MLK day as four games have been scheduled.

The Hawks will take on the Heat while the Celtics visit the Hornets.

Elsewhere, the Lakers host the Rockets. And the two teams with the highest NBA win totals last year will go head to head as the Suns take on the Grizzlies.


NBA Rivals week

The league is hosting its first-of-a-kind showdown as it has scheduled 11 nationally televised games in four days between January 24 and January 28.

The most decorated teams in the NBA, the Lakers and the Celtics, will face off in Boston. After that, the Sixers and the Nuggets face off in a battle of MVP candidates and that is followed by the Nets hosting the Knicks. The entire schedule for the Rivals week is here.

NBA trade deadline

The trade deadline for the upcoming season is scheduled for February 9th. This is one of the most important days as teams will make a final push to solidify their rosters.

At the same time, some teams will look to throw in the towel and push for the draft lottery. Expect massive trades in the days leading up to the deadline.

NBA All-Star Weekend

The All-Star weekend is happening in Salt Lake City in Utah.

The best players in the NBA will compete in a series of competitions before capping off with the annual All-Star Game.

NBA Play-In Tournament 2023

The teams ranked between seven and 10 in both conferences will fight it out for the final two playoff positions.

The tournament is scheduled to take place between April 11-14.

NBA Playoffs

The most anticipated part of the NBA season will begin on April 15th as eight teams from each conference will battle it out to crown a conference champion.

The teams will play several grueling series before the most anticipated series of the entire season.

NBA Finals

The biggest series of the year will begin on June 1st, 2023.

The two best teams from either conference will go head to head in a seven-game series to determine the champion of the league.
