Five players the Ravens should pursue before the trade deadline

The Ravens find themselves near the top of the AFC North despite suffering numerous injuries this season. This is why the Ravens trade rumors 2021 are centered around bolstering their running back, cornerback, and offensive tackle depth.

Ravens trade rumors 2021

Over the past few weeks, Baltimore has been trending up the NFL power rankings. Despite being outmanned, they look like a legit Super Bowl contender.

That being said, the Ravens still badly need some reinforcements to push for a deep playoff run. They need to surround Lamar Jackson with better offensive weapons.

Here are the five best Ravens trade deadline targets…

RB, Marlon Mack

Marlon Mack has been popping all over NFL trade deadline news. Over the past weeks, he already asked the Colts to start looking into trading him to a new team. Jonathan Taylor is now the Colts’ lead running back, and there’s no business for Mack anymore to watch from the passenger’s seat.

Mack is still one of the best running backs when healthy. He rushed for a combined 2000 yards in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons. However, he suffered a torn Achilles last year which derailed his 2020 season.

RB-needy teams like the Ravens make sense as a landing spot for Mack. He would be an upgrade over Latavius Murray, Le’Veon Bell, and Devonta Freeman.

RB, Ronald Jones II

Ever since that Week 1 fumble, things haven’t been great for Ronald Jones in Tampa Bay. Before the start of the season, he was hyped to become the lead running back for the defending champions. After all, Jones ended the 2020 season with a bang as he rushed for almost 1000 yards and corralled seven touchdowns.

Now, Leonard Fournette is the lead running back for the Bucs. He’s currently out carrying Jones 93-41.

That being said, Jones is still a great running back who can help other contending teams. A new environment would work for him since he has fallen out of Bruce Arians’ grace.

Baltimore could pick him up before the trade deadline. His speed and explosiveness to pierce defenses will be valuable for a rushing team like them.

RB, Miles Sanders

The Eagles seem to be allergic to Miles Sanders. In seven games this season, he only had 63 carries so far which is 30th amongst running backs. There’s even one game where he only had two rushing attempts. Unbelievable.

Perhaps Nick Sirianni’s offense doesn’t really like to run the ball that much. But they’re clearly wasting Sanders’ talent there. If Philadelphia isn’t going to use him, Baltimore should make an aggressive move in acquiring the talented back.

Sanders is a great young player to have on a contending team like the Ravens. He has the potential to become the lead running back in Harbaugh’s offense.

CB, Kyle Fuller

Baltimore desperately needs an upgrade in the secondary, especially after Marcus Peters‘ knee injury. According to Statmuse, the Ravens have allowed the most receiving yards with 2186 yards this season.

Without a solid cornerback, opposing quarterbacks could just target their receivers down the field all day. This is a matchup dream for teams such as the Buccaneers, Rams, and Cardinals.

That being said, Denver’s Kyle Fuller could become Peters’ replacement. His arrival would be an upgrade over the current cornerbacks, Anthony Averett and Tavon Young. After all, he was already a two-time All-Pro.

OT, Andre Dillard

The Ravens need to address their offensive tackle depth after the injuries of Ronnie Stanley and Patrick Mekari. Philadelphia’s Andre Dillard is already one of the top Ravens trade rumors before the 2021 deadline.

Dillard is supposed to be Jason Peters‘ successor as an offensive tackle. However, he suffered an injury in the training camp. This forced the Eagles to start Jordan Mailata in his stead and lo and behold, he exceeded expectations.

Now finally healthy, Dillard would be a great addition to have for the Ravens. He’s definitely an upgrade over Philips and Ogbuehi and will help guard their franchise quarterback, Lamar Jackson in getting quality looks.

  1. We Need to Trade for Kyle Fuller Now we have allowed the most passing yards in the League and we have amble amount of draft comp to pry him away from the Broncos I don’t understand we can’t possibly believe we can compete for a Ring with that Secondary!
