Re-drafting the 2017 NBA Draft

10th pick: Zach Collins

An injury saw Zach Collins miss a big opportunity this season. With Jusuf Nurkic sidelined, Collins was tabbed to be Portland’s starting five. That versatility, being able to play the four or five, is what makes Collins such a key player for the Blazers.

Although hardly a gunner from range, Collins drains enough of his treys to make defences respect him. He’s an above-average rim protector and has shown a good feel for the offensive side of the game, picking and popping and working in the post when required.

The missed months made it hard to place Collins. This spot could look far too low in a matter of weeks.
