Re-drafting the 2017 NBA Draft

12th pick: Jarrett Allen

The Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving-led signing of DeAndre Jordan has left Jarrett Allen in a predicament. He is a starting calibre centre.

Allen has been healthy through his three NBA seasons. He’s yet to play more than 26 minutes per game, however, and his shot-blocking, rim-running roll is deemed replaceable by many NBA front offices.

Picked 22nd overall in 2017, there’s no question that Allen is good at what he does. He’s closer to his ceiling than many others in this draft, and has shown a consistency of performance that is impressive for such a young player.

His role that limits him for this redraft. Non-shooting centres are not as valuable as they used to be.
