Alex Cobb’s 179 innings in 2017 were the most of his career. His 3.66 ERA was lower than Yu Darvish, Chris Archer and Michael Fulmer, who will all be far costlier than Cobb on The Show 18. Cobb will almost certainly have a lower overall than that trio.

Cobb is a different pitcher to the aforementioned Samardzija. His strikeouts per nine are amongst the lowest in the league, but so are his walks per nine. Samardzija is perhaps an easier pitcher to use, but Cobb could be a very solid, cheap option as you build your Diamond Dynasty rotation.

The draft pick attached to Cobb has seen him remain a free agent late into March, but the former Ray will be available on the Diamond Dynasty market from the day the game is released.
