The 22 NBA teams heading to Disney in Orlando will get a chance to add players. The other eight will as well in an upcoming, week-long ‘transaction window’, but the 22 teams who are going to be playing more basketball in the 2019/20 season are our focus here.
Front offices can sign free agents. They can convert two-way contracts. They can extend 10-day contracts (like Joakim Noah‘s at the Clippers) to standard deals for the remainder oft he campaign.
There are players with serious postseason experience. Some haven’t played in the NBA for a long time through choice or injury, others were active earlier this season but headed to free agency after a trade. There’s talent available, talent that could get postseason minutes or help a team in the eight remaining regular season games.
These five free agents are likely the best of the bunch. They could all be playing for one of the 22 remaining teams when basketball resumes at the end of July…
