A decade of drafts: Re-drafting the 2018 NBA Draft

1st pick: Luka Doncic

The Suns and Kings passing on Luka Doncic will remain one of the great NBA what-ifs. He’s a legitimate MVP candidate in his second season in the league and has taken the Dallas Mavericks back to the playoffs.

Young was Doncic’s only rival for top spot in this redraft but putting the Slovenian point guard as number one was an easy call. There’s work to be done defensively, and his perimeter shooting needs to improve, yet he’s the best player in this draft right now and could be locked in as one of the league’s best five players in the near future.
